EcoFlow DELTA 2 Review: A Detailed Guide for Detailers

When it comes to portable power solutions, especially for mobile detailers, it's essential to invest in a reliable and high-capacity unit. In the world of solar generators, EcoFlow is a brand that stands out for its innovative products, and today, I'll be reviewing one of its flagship models: the EcoFlow DELTA 2.

Key Specifications

The DELTA 2 is an impressive power station with an array of features suited for various applications. Here's a quick overview of its specifications:

  • Capacity: 1024 Wh

  • AC Output: 6 outlets, 1800W total (Surge 2700W)

  • Max Device(s) Power (with X-Boost): 2200W

  • Multiple USB-A and USB-C Outputs

  • AC Charging: X-stream Fast Charge 1200W max

  • Solar Charging: 11-60V, 15A, 500W max

  • Battery Chemistry: LFP (LiFePO4 battery)

  • Cycle Life: 3000 cycles to 80+% capacity

  • Dimensions: 15.7 x 8.3 x 11 in

  • Weight: 27lbs

Personal Experience with the DELTA 2

I purchased the DELTA 2 primarily for its LFP battery cells, which are rated to 3000 cycles with 80% battery life, considerably outperforming the DELTA Max 2000's 800 cycles to 80% battery life.

However, the peak wattage was slightly lower than its predecessor, the DELTA 1300. Consequently, it couldn't power my pressure washer, carpet extractor, or Rigid shop vacuum, which are essential tools in my detailing work.

My Ecoflow Delta 2

Charging at over 307w of solar input, the Delta 2 is showing that it would take about 2 hours to go from 43% State of Charge to 100% SoC.

Enter the DELTA Max 2

Just a month after my DELTA 2 purchase, EcoFlow released the Delta 2 Max a more powerful and upgraded version of the DELTA 2. This model has a higher capacity (2048Wh) and more AC outlets (6), making it ideal for heavy-duty tasks. Its peak AC output is significantly improved, offering 2400W (with a surge capacity of 4800W).

With the additional peak wattage and larger capacity, the DELTA 2 Max is my recommended solar generator for mobile detailers. When combined with the EcoFlow dual fuel generator or their array of solar panels, you'll have a robust and reliable power solution. I've personally bought two 100W flexible panels and one 110W portable panel, generating over 300W of real-world solar power, which is truly impressive!

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, while I love my DELTA 2 and it has come in handy for emergency power and powering smaller tools in my mobile detailing setup, my next purchase will undoubtedly be the DELTA 2 Max. If you have the funds, consider the DELTA Pro, but remember, your choice should be dictated by your power needs and budget.

Stay tuned for more detailed reviews and recommendations tailored to the mobile detailing community. Until next time, happy detailing!
